This demonstration gives a beautiful representation of Bernoulli’s principle. There is high speed air coming through the funnel from the air pump causing a low pressure region around the ball in the funnel. This allows the ping pong ball to “magically” float at the top of the funnel. A nice feature of this demonstration is that you can increase and decrease the air flow through the funnel to show that this effect only works at high speeds.
