The outside of the tube has wires coiled around the middle, connected to LED lights. Inside the tube there is a free moving strong magnet. When the magnet falls in between the coiled wire, a change in the magnetic flux of the system is created. By Lenz’s law, this creates a current which is able to power on the LED lights.
