This demonstration can be used to show a wide variety of wave phenomena: Speed of propagation, superposition, reflection, refraction, and diffraction. The tank is filled with water and waves are produced by an oscillating machine at one end of the tank. The machine allows you to control the frequency and amplitude of the waves. By placing a variety of obstacles in the tank one can demonstrate all the different properties of waves.
